NORTHERN SAMAR SCHOOL BOARD HIGHLIGHTS SCHOOL-BUILDING PROJECTS AND EDUCATION INITIATIVES
April 16, 2024/Catarman Northern Samar--Vice Gov Clarence Dato highlighted the importance of the infrastructure projects in creating conducive learning environments for students and teachers during the school board meeting on April 15, 2024, with the presence of Dr. Gaudencio Aljibe, Schools Division Superintendent, and Board Members Marites Gillamac.
Dato reiterated the Provincial Local School Board's commitment to supporting educational initiatives that enhance the overall learning experience for students and promote holistic development. He emphasized the significance of collaboration between local government units and DepEd in fostering a culture of academic excellence and innovation.
In the meeting, updates were provided on the construction of school buildings funded by the 2021, 2022, and 2023 Special Education Fund (SEF) budgets, and the SEF cash balance status to ensure transparency and accountability in using education funds. Financial reports were presented to provide a clear picture of the financial health of the SEF and its impact on ongoing and future educational projects.
Also, DepEd concerns have been discussed, including updates on the Eastern Visayas Regional Athletic Association (EVRAA) preparation and the progress of preparations for the upcoming sports event, pointing out the importance of promoting sportsmanship and camaraderie among students from different schools.
The recently concluded Division Schools Press Conference pinpointed by the meeting, the achievements of student journalists and their contributions to school publications wherein the board acknowledged the importance of nurturing young talents in journalism and encouraging student participation in campus press activities.
Likewise, the heat index continues to be a present challenge, the Provincial Local School Board remains dedicated to advancing education initiatives, improving infrastructure, and ensuring the well-being of students and educators across the province.#EUGENE MONTANO ENANO
