TRIBU KAWAYANON BAGGED 300K IN BOBON AGTA FESTIVAL 2024
Catarman Northern Samar/January 16, 2024---The town of Bobon in Northern Samar celebrates its Agta Festival is held in the municipality every second Sunday of January to honor and revere the black image of the Holy Child Jesus. Bobon has been holding the Agta Festival since 1981 and is participated by contingents from various municipalities of Northern Samar.
About ten contingents joining the Agta Festival this year, the local chief executive of Bobon, Northern Samar was still happy because of the huge crowd that watched the delegates during their performances held last Sunday, January 14, 2023, at Bobon Central Elementary School
Mayor Jing Celespara said he is very thankful to continue supporting the Sto. Niño celebration in Bobon, especially the Agta Festival has a big crowd and this is a big challenge for LGU Bobon and the Agta Festival management to improve handling this event including the guidelines.
For this year’s competition, the contingent from Brgy. Cawayan, Catarman, Tribu Kawayanon, the Catarmanon Pride bagged the top prize and won a P300,000 cash prize.
Sto. Niňo tribe of Bobon was in second place and received 200,000 cash while Tribu Carang of San Jose town bagged 100,000 the 3rd place.
Before the festival competition, a street dancing parade was held around the town’s major streets after the concelebrated mass officiated by Catarman Bishop Emeritus Emmanuel Trance at the Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish which was built in 1892.#EUGENE MONTANO ENANO
